Name: The Greater Northern Kingdom or the Kingdom of Aquilos
Description: Aquilos is a large, sprawling Kingdom made of great cities and sprawling countrysides. A wealthy nation, there are still peasants of course, but the wealth is spread more equally here than in the other regions, where all the wealth is clustered in a few extremely wealthy families. Magick and intellect is important in Aquilos, though individuality and pursuit of personal interests and strengths is accepted and encouraged. Because it is so accepting, Aquilos is a melting pot of sorts, where many different cultures mix, and clash. While Aquilos has a fairly large and strong armed force, most of their defense and offense is Magick based. Aquilos is the only place to go to learn the High Magicks, and the Great Mage and Sorcery schools are located here. The arts are also greatly appreciated in Aquilos. Aquilos is the most advanced of all the regions technology-wise, and there are people from all different regions, even outside of Lamavia, who travel here to go to the schools and often to stay permenately.
Geography: The northernmost regions of Aquilos are barren tundra-lands. It is cold, dry, and windswept, and the earth lies buried beneath over 200 feet of snow. As you move further south through the country, the tundra-land quickly tapers off into Northern Forests that fall quickly into farms and small villiages. In the center of the country is several large castles and mansions owned by the royal family and the nobles and that are home to many from the working class. The southern part of the country is mostly farmland again. The southern most part of Aquilos fades into the Sun-Grass Plains, part of which lie within Aquilos' territory. To the west the Great Pine Forests fade shabbily into Aquilos from Messina. In the east the land begins to rise into large hills before hitting the border with Shinohi where the Great Mountains begin.
Terrain: Most of Aquilos is flat or gentle hills with very gradual slopes. A great deal of the country has been cleared to make farmland, villages, and cities, but there is still much deep Forest, especially to the North and West. In the far east of the country the land rises more sharply, and a few of the largest hills are high enough to have snow at their peak year-round most years. The valleys of these peaks are in danger of flood whenever the snows melt, and there have been plenty of years with great tragedies, and some of the villages and cities are still under water, while some others have been deserted and become ghost towns. Still others have been returned to and continue to flourish, until the next flood.
Climate: Warm summers that can become extremely hot at times. Minor droughts are not uncommon in the summer, slightly less common in the winter, spring, and fall. Flooding can happen at any time, but there is minor flooding nearly every spring. Winter is cool, but can become dangerously cold with little warning. Snow commonly arrives late fall/early winter and stays until mid spring to some degree, though there are thaws throughtout usually. The North experinces greater temperature fluctuations, with hotter summers and colder winters. The north is also wetter. The south is the hottest areas in the summer, and is cool in the winter. Drought in the south occurs every summer, usually mild and short lived, but a major drought every few years is imminent. Fall and Spring are very wet with mild temperatures.

That person than becomes the Crown Prince or Princess until they are ushered to Eldoth, where they are immedaitely sworn in.
Government Stability: Very Stable. With their Magicks, Aquilos is relatively safe from outside attack, and the Sword of Blue Flames prevents any real internal power struggles, as well as preventing despots from taking the throne. Enemies & Rivals: Aquilos has a small rivalry with Shinohi due to a clash of cultures.
Neutral Countries: Aquilos has strained relations with all of the Haida Tribes, save the Yakima'l'Haida, because of the troubles between Messina and the Nisga'l'Haida. Their relations with Akinosh are also strained because of Akadia's alliance with Shinohi.
Demographics: Aquilos is semi-based on Renassiance through 1700's England/America/Western Europe as well as Traditional Fantasy Settings.

Military: While the military is by no means weak, it is nothing against the impressive forces of other nations. It's magickal reinforcement is it's saving grace; it is the best in Lamavia by far.
Economy: Aquilos is a wealthy nation. The peasant class is small compared to the size of the country and it's population. There are few social programs, but it is more than elsewhere.
Currency: Roupes. Different colors indicate different amounts. Gold is 20, Silver is 10, bronze is 5, and copper is 1. They are small coins that are used all over Lamavia, though some socities prefer bartering to currency. While the peasants will sometimes barter when they have no roupes, bartering is seen very little elsewise, save for in the grand markets.
Technology Level: Medevial, with Magick accounting for much of the technology.
Natural Resources and Manufactured Goods: In the North and west, there is Lumber, in the east are the great rock quarries and mines. The south is healthy and fertile, good for growing, and many crops are grown there. There is a profitable livestock trade in Aquilos as well.
Social: Intelligence and magickal prowess is most favored in Aquilos, along with pursuing some sort of craft or hand-skill. Aquilos is a very open and acceping country though, so these are only minor accents.
Languages: The Trader's Language, also known Irayan, the Old Language, or the United Northern Kingdom Language. It is the langauge spoken in the Northern Kingdom when Messina and Aquilos were united as one country known as the Kingdom of Iraya.
Primary Religion: There is no main religion in Aquilos. There are many schools of religious thought around the country, many brotherhoods, sisterhoods, cathedrals, and churches in Aquilos. This is usualy not a problem, but now and then religions with very different beliefs start up squabbles.
Cities of note: Eldoth, the capital. This is a bustling city, though of modest size. This is where the King and the most powerful people in Aquilos live. It is a well-guarded city because of this, located just east of central Aquilos, the mountains are just visible in the distance. There are various other cities of importance around the country, but they are for you to create in the roleplays.
